Please weigh in on the rumor that Morrissey and Domino Records U.S. are negotiating an alliance for future releases by the former Smiths man. Domino U.S. is home to the Arctic Monkeys.

Electric Picnic Festival 2007: Bjork to Headline

Electric Picnic Festival 2007 on the Stradbally Estate (County Laois Ireland) will feature among others Bjork, Modest Mouse, Primal Scream, Iggy & The Stooges, Beastie Boys, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. The concert takes place over three days Aug 31 to Sept 2. Tickets on sale yesterday.

Colbie Caillat Signed To Universal Records

Myspace darling and L.A. resident Colbie Caillat signed to Universal Records. She’s the daughter of Fleetwood Mac producer Ken Caillat.

Other new Universal artists you may not know about: The rootsy 23 year old Schuyler Fisk on tour with Joshua Radin, San Francisco band ALO on Jack Johnson’s Brushfire Records label.

Sold for 25 Million: Live Nation Sells London Venue Hammersmith Apollo to MAMA Group

The MAMA Group (SuperVision, Barfly, The Fly, Animal Noise, The Forum) is scheduled to pay Live Nation 25 million dollars for Hammersmith Apollo live music venue.

As you know, Sony-BMG UK (Columbia, RCA) have allied with Vox.com to develop a “registered & monitored” A&R community of bands/fans/blogs. Of course your awesome band will be poached from the social network submissions and you’ll get a major recording contract straight away (wink). Says Lambert-Martin in his blog,

Why Are The Arctic Monkeys So Big?

It’s not a little known fact that Arctic Monkeys are headlining to 100,000 people at Manchester’s Lancashire County Cricket Ground, 2 nights in July. Support for these shows includes Amy Winehouse, Supergrass and The Coral. Here in the U.S., the Arctic Monkeys popularity is limited to venues such as NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom (2500 capacity).

Hear Music/Starbucks is Not Signing Radiohead

On sale yesterday 4/1, Glastonbury did 137,000+ tickets in 105 mins. Reportedly there were hundreds of thousands vying to attend the popular UK fest in late June.
