Saving Abel Signed to Capitol Music Group, Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday) Signed to Equal Vision
In Music News, Record Producer News on August 30, 2007 at 9:49 amMississippi mainstream rockers Saving Abel signed to Capitol Music Group. They use producer Skidd Mills. Fred Mascherino (of Taking Back Sunday) has signed his band The Color Fred to Equal Vision Records. He’s produced by Lou Giordano.
Come September, Sarah Bettens (formerly of K’s Choice) will put out a new solo record “Shine” via Universal Benelux. Leigh Nash (formerly of Sixpence None The Richer) and Delerium recorded an entire album under the name Fauxliage (avail on Nettwerk Records).

UK Songwriter Buzz, Brooklyn Band Signs To Wind Up
In Music News on August 21, 2007 at 1:58 pmThere was this unsigned Brooklyn band I featured in one of these A&R emailers almost a year ago in September ‘06. Jive, Atlantic and some others bit but no pursuit occurred. A few weeks ago in late July ‘07 they suggested Wind-Up was about to sign them.
One of my indie/unsigned faves is this UK songwriter. Soulful and moody with an obvious Nick Drake, Chris Martin, Iron & Wine lineage. And hey, it’s less dramatic than Paolo Nutini!
