# The Fray

Gary Savelson began pursuing and posting The Fray in April 2004. In August 2004 he liaisoned the connection between Epic Records and the band. Debut album “How to Save a Life” is now 2x platinum. An email to Savelson dated August 18, 2004 from Fray member Joe King reads,

Gary, one of the [Epic] scouts in NY came across ‘Vienna’ on your site. He then played in a meeting in NY with the president. They loved it, and sent Mike [Flynn] out to the show. They didn’t have a press kit or CD it was just off that one song.

# Morningwood

Long before their record deal, this band was introduced to their manager by Gary Savelson in November 2002. To date: 90,000 shipped, peaked #1 Billboard Heatseeker, VH1 and Fuse specials, KROQ-FM and MTV TRL pick. On CBS TV’s David Letterman June 21, 2006. U.S. summer headline tour with Rock Kills Kid and featured music on Mercury car commercial fall 2006. Look for their new “Sugarbaby” video on MTV, summer 2008.

# Music Supervising
Gary Savelson placed several songs on the WB television show “Dawson’s Creek” (additional placement on the “Tarzan” WB show). Savelson was responsible for St. Louis band Neptune Crush being flown to NYC by Epic Records (for showcase). Gary discovered young Floridian Shanna Crooks and coordinated an RCA and Warner fly-in to her local showcase (what’s more, Savelson also tipped off Matt Serletic’s Melisma/Arista label who flew her out to LA). Later she went on to sign with a Warner Chappell publishing division. Savelson placed music by UK band Kyte in an HBO “Sopranos” commercial campaign, summer 2007.
